Horn Williamson, a fast-growing female led firm expands its practice and welcomes prominent Philadelphia attorney Michael Hayes as the firm’s new litigation chair.

Hayes has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, particularly in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey state and federal courts. In addition, he has represented business entities both in responding to government investigations and in conducting sensitive internal investigations including cyber security issues.

Prior to joining Horn Williamson, Mike Hayes was a partner at the Montgomery McCracken Walker and Rhoads law firm. He is a graduate of Temple Law School and has served as a clerk to a Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice.

Hayes has long been active in the community. He has held multiple local leadership positions, including in the Philadelphia Bar Association and in several legal service organizations. He has been a leader in the provision of pro bono services to those in need in the Philadelphia area.

Hayes also currently serves as a Captain in the JAG Corps of the United States Army Reserve.

He currently serves as the president of the board of directors for the Homeless Advocacy Project. The Homeless Advocacy Project, or HAP, advocates for and provides critical pro bono legal services to individuals experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

In addition to his duties as Litigation Chair, Hayes will help Horn Williamson build its pro bono program. He hopes to forge a relationship between the Homeless Advocacy Program and Horn Williamson, using the firm’s construction and housing background to help HAP clients and otherwise further HAP’s mission.

When asked about his move to Horn Williamson, Mr. Hayes said, “I am enthusiastic about this new opportunity with Horn Williamson. I think the attorneys, especially Jennifer Horn, Carter Williamson, and retired Judge Cohen are dynamic, brilliant, and engaging. I am excited to be chairing the litigation department, expanding its possibilities, and adding to the foundation of a rapidly growing firm. I am also more than happy to help grow the pro bono program at Horn Williamson and boost its already impressive involvement in the Philadelphia community.”

Jennifer Horn said, “We are extremely gratified that a lawyer with the credentials of Mike Hayes is joining us. We are looking forward to his helping our clients with their litigation needs.”

Horn Williamson is a law firm principally based in Philadelphia with a regional practice. In addition to its other practice areas, it has built a large construction litigation practice representing homeowners whose homes are experiencing severe defects, such as water damage or mold. To learn more about their practice or work with Mr. Hayes directly, call 215.987.3800
