Virginia is a member of Horn Williamson’s Community Association Practice Group and brings to those clients both her years of experience in litigation as well as her gratitude to them for trusting us to safeguard their homes.
In the realm of community association law, Virginia leverages years of experience in dispute resolution, risk management, and legal compliance to help homeowners’ associations (HOAs), condominium associations, and cooperatives operate efficiently while protecting their legal interests. Whether it’s advising on governance issues, enforcing community rules, handling construction defects, or managing liability claims, Virginia is committed to ensuring that community associations are well-equipped to address both legal and operational hurdles.
Dedicated to delivering practical and reliable legal counsel, Virginia combines in-depth knowledge of insurance defense and business law with a passion for fostering harmonious community living. With a strong focus on protecting the rights of associations and their members, she offers a strategic approach to mitigate risks and resolve conflicts, ensuring associations thrive in a legally sound and harmonious environment.
Virginia’s career spans more than 30 years, during which time she has engaged in all manner of defense and plaintiff work. She attended Fordham Law School in Manhattan and started her career there, working on insurance defense cases. She then got married and moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she specialized in defending products liability cases. After moving to Maryland, she focused on personal injury matters. She then moved to Pennsylvania, where she worked remotely with attorneys in New York and New Jersey who primarily dealt with business conflicts. Virginia believes that, at the core of each of these areas of law, are individuals who need help. Having successfully represented individuals, businesses, and insurance companies, Virginia is adept at navigating complex legal challenges, negotiating favorable outcomes, and delivering thoughtful solutions to clients. She enjoys representing the people at the heart of these matters and seeking the best possible resolution for that individual/ company.
Her life experiences stretch beyond the practice of law. After her first child was born with Down syndrome, she played a pivotal role in forming the Chester County Down Syndrome Interest Group and utilized her legal training to help successfully transition it into a 501(c)(3) organization. She served for many years on the Board of Directors as its Vice-President of Education and Planning. Her efforts to improve the quality of healthcare for, and the acceptance of, people with Down syndrome were recognized by the Arc of Chester County in 2001 when she was awarded the “Volunteer Advocate of the Year.” She now serves on the Board of Directors for Handi-Crafters Opportunity Center, a facility in Chester County that employs individuals with disabilities, providing them with meaningful work and much-needed opportunities for socialization. These experiences have equipped Virginia to deal with a wide range of people, and she has become adept at dispute resolution and finding solutions that satisfy most parties.
When she is not at work, Virginia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, teaching classes at her church, volunteering with people with special needs, working in her garden, and reading.
